PART 1 The SAVIOUR (Spasskaya) TOWER, Moscow, Russia § Visitors to Red Square in Moscow are impressed by this imposing tower, designed in 1491 by the Italian architect Pietro Antonio Solari. Belfry/clock was added in 1624–25. Present-day clock and chimes were repaired and installed by the brothers Butenop in 1851.
