Miniature by artist Abas from the famous Red Gospel of Gandzasar, depicting the entry of Christ into Jerusalem. The Red Gospel is one of the best-known and largest Armenian manuscripts. It was acquired by Gandzasar’s library in 1232, during the reign of Grand Prince Hasan Jalal Vahtangian. The Red Gospel is on display at the University of Chicago’s library (USA).
